Commercial marijuana recommendations not ready for public vote – Courier

CAMDEN — Recommendations on commercial cannabis growing and manufacturing businesses are not heading to a November vote at the polls in Camden.

The select board and town manager Audra Caler-Bell made it clear that the next steps for Cannabis Working Group recommendations on marijuana cultivation and manufacture products are another workshop, and then planning board review.

Liz Smith, a member of the working group, explained to the board that the group focused first on cultivation in the hope that a public vote would be taken in November, and if passed by voters, would allow cultivation in Camden during the next growing season.
The group is also looking for direction from the select board on the time frame on its next steps regarding cultivation, manufacturing, and for retail, she said.
