RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Reno Cannabis Convention kicked off at Whitney Peak Saturday. No one at the event smoked marijuana or ate marijuana edibles, as the main goal was education.
The convention includes nearly 100 trade vendors and 24 speakers who are sharing ideas on politics, business, safety and all other facets of the cannabis industry.
Event organizer Anthony Lee believes knowledge in this industry, is power.
“It’s a big deal to know what you’re talking about,” said Lee. “There are so many different aspects that this industry touches. Because it’s a brand new industry, it’s evolving every day.”
Vendors who spoke with KOLO 8 News Now say they are working to start a conversation to create understanding and to get rid of the stigma that comes with marijuana. Organizers hope to make The Reno Cannabis Convention an annual event in Reno.
