NUTLEY, NJ – Attorney Barry Kozyra informed the Nutley Planning Board at the November 15 meeting that he will be keeping an eye on progress of the marijuana legalization legislation and ‘will try to act as counsel’.
‘It will be a new use that is not currently in the Township Code.’
Mayor Dr. Joseph Scarpelli: ‘I think there are so many issues. Just the legalization is one thing. But what’s the enforcement, age restrictions, driving under the influence…’ Carol Tangorra noted she ‘hasn’t heard much about it in Montclair. Montclair is one of the five New Jersey towns with a medical marijuana dispensary.

Last year New Jersey Sen. Nicholas Scutari, D-Linden introduced a bill that would legalize the possession and personal use of small amounts of recreational marijuana across the state.
If the bill passes, it will allow Nutley and other towns statewide to decide if they will allow marijuana sales. Wording in the bill
