The marijuana drug raid involving West Noble High School students earlier this month has revealed a troubling trend that is heading this way.
They’re called marijuana edibles, and they consist of suckers, cookies, brownies and gummies that are laced with marijuana.
While the Noble County drug raid revealed a well-organized distribution system, the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Capt. Kevin Hunter said locally he hasn’t seen an edible distribution group like the one in Noble County — yet. Hunter, who is in charge of the Vice Narcotics Division, said, “It’s a trend to come here soon.”
Since marijuana is legal for recreational use in Washington State and Colorado, people either go there to purchase the drug and transport it back to Indiana or have it shipped through the mail. Hunter said more marijuana comes from Colorado.
