LAS VEGAS — Medical marijuana dispensaries are stocking shelves with items from more suppliers who do not grow pot at all.
Area cultivators provide the marijuana that infuses the edibles made at a new production facility in the Las Vegas valley, reported the Las Vegas Sun (http://bit.ly/2eS0yov).
Colorado-based Dixie Elixirs and Edibles partnered with Silver State Wellness to get the 17,000-square-foot operation running.
“It doesn’t make sense for us economically to also cultivate marijuana at this time,” Dixie Brands CEO Tripp Keber said. “But with the robust medical program and potential for recreational marijuana here in Nevada, we saw Las Vegas as a great spot to establish this partnership.”
Keber’s company has other partnerships with facilities that make marijuana edibles, distributing in Colorado, Arizona and California.
